Recording tracks

Overland Navigator allows you to record tracks on your iPhone when out and about.

Everything you record is private by default - no one else can see where you’ve been unless you explicitly share the route. Once you’re finished recording, your GPS log is sent to the Navigator server where we do a bit of processing work to remove duplicate locations and generally create a tidier route.

Drive to the start of where you want to track, open Overland Navigator and press the record button in the top menu of the app.

If needed, the app will ask for extra permissions - Overland Navigator needs them to be able to track your location throughout the recording session. When you press stop, it drops back to fewer permissions - we don’t need to know where you are at all times!

Simply hit the ‘+’ button on the popup and a waypoint will be created at your current location.

You can pause recording at any time - simply press the pause button. Remember to press go when you want to record again.

Press the red stop button and confirm that you’re finished. Fill in as many or as little details as you want, remembering that the more detail you provide now the easier it’ll be to remember what they are in the future.

Hit the ‘Favourites’ button in the bottom menu - your tracks will show up in the list there.

From the ‘Favourites’ screen simply swipe left on the track you wish to delete and press the red delete button.
